Wire Fox Terriers

I got my first WFT in 1991 when I was 14 year old youngster. She was an extremely clever Wire girl called Afrodite sired by the Entertainer of Saredon (Louline Head over Heels x Eskwtre Acclaim). On the mothers side there was early Wolfheart by Paula Heikkinen-Lehkonen. Lulu was my good friend that got me interested in Wire Fox terriers as a whole.

My second Wire came to me in 1992 from Tarmo Viirtelä (Wallin). Nutlee Gymkhana, Steffi, was sired by Danish Multi Ch Stårups Ruud Gullit and her mother was Ch Zalia vd Bismarchquelle. Steffi was for shows and she was the wire that took me into show grooming of Wires as well as breeding. My Mom had bred English Springer Spaniels under kennel name Toyriver's since 1986 so me starting with Wires was in many ways natural.

In 1994 Grethe Bergendahl gave me Marstens Final Fight. Lille Finn was a handsome Wire male, who did very well in the shows and became Ch quickly. I searched for the pedigree behind Finn for a long time. I wanted to have certain Louline bloodlines and combine them to Steffi. Finn and Steffi gave me multiple BIS-winner Toyriver's Circle of Life, Simba.

After long waiting, in the year 1997, I got a beautiful bitch from Geir Flyckt-Pedersen, Louline Miss Madigan. Maddie was sired by Sceftesbr Consul at Travella and her mother was Louline Henrietta (Louline Pemberton x Louline Heartstrain). I loved Maddie's head and expression. Maddie did very well in the shows and became Ch quickly.

The one thing I loved the most was grooming a beutiful wire fox terrier. Also, I was very lucky to have the best possible mentors as Tarmo Viirtelä (Nutlee), Juha Palosaari (Starring) and Grethe Bergendahl (Marstens). Also, I had a great learning experience with Peter Green, one of the famous terrier handlers in the States, during one summer in the middle on the 90's. Between 1992-2003 I was very active with Wires in Finland.

In the 2000 I founded my first technology company which started to consume most of my time. After a few years I desided to pause with the wires and focus on the business. This was because my golden rule has always been that you must have time for your fox terrier. Otherwise you should not have one.
